What it is
Mumble is an open source VoIP client/server. The client is called Mumble, the server is called Murmur. Low-latency, high-quality voice, positional audio (for games), strong encryption, cross-platform clients.
Why we recommend it
If you need low-latency voice chat (lower than Discord, lower than Teams), Mumble is the answer. The protocol is designed for gaming — positional audio, push-to-talk, very low CPU.
